Padster ("we," "us," "our") operates padster.ca, a mobile app for browsing Edmonton real estate listings. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Phone number — if you create an account, we use your phone number to sign you in via a one-time text code. We do not require a password.
Booking details — if you request a showing, we collect your name, phone number, and email address to arrange it, and to send you a confirmation.
Preferences and favourites — your budget, preferred neighbourhoods, bedroom/bathroom filters, and saved (favourited) homes. These are currently stored on your own device (in your browser's local storage), not on our servers, unless you're signed in to a synced account.
Messages — if you message us in the app, we receive the content of that message so we can respond.
Basic usage data — such as how many times you've visited, so we can show relevant prompts (for example, suggesting you create an account after a few visits).
How we use your information
To operate the swipe/search experience and remember your preferences.
To arrange showings and respond to your questions.
To send price-drop alerts and status updates on homes you've favourited, if you've opted in and created an account.
To improve Padster and understand how it's used.
What we don't do
We don't sell your personal information to third parties.
We don't share your contact details with listing agents or brokerages without your request (e.g., booking a showing).
Listing data
Property listings displayed in Padster are sourced from the CREA Data Distribution Facility (DDF®). Listing data, including photos and pricing, is licensed from participating real estate boards and is not independently verified by Padster. Mortgage estimates shown are illustrative only, based on assumed down payment, interest rate, and amortization — they are not a mortgage offer or pre-approval.
Cookies and local storage
We use your browser's local storage (not third-party tracking cookies) to remember your preferences, favourites, and visit count on this device.
Your choices
You can sign out at any time from your profile, which clears your locally stored data on that device. To request deletion of any information we hold about you, contact us below.
